After all, it seems like it should be a pretty straightforward process, right?

Well, not exactly. And there’s a good reason why most reputable heating and cooling companies won’t give you a quote over the phone for a new system installation. Let us explain!

Every home is different

A system that’s too small won’t be able to keep up with the demand, while one that’s too large will cycle on and off too frequently, leading to inefficiency and higher energy bills. The layout of your home and the configuration of your ductwork can also play a role in your needs. Even the number, size, and location of your windows can have a big impact on your home’s heating and cooling needs. South-facing windows, for example, can let in a lot of heat during the summer, while drafty windows can let in cold air during the winter.
